Niagara-on-the-Lake is known for its friendly people, as well as an abundance of parks, outdoor activities, a beautiful heritage district and good restaurants. Located on the Niagara Peninsula where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario, the region boasts a vibrant art scene, popular picturesque beaches and beautiful natural vistas. Drawing both old and young alike there are many reasons why the Niagara-on-the-Lake real estate market has continued to see substantial growth. Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens

Plan to spend some time strolling through the 99 acres of immaculately manicured and maintained gardens taking in what it has to offer. Check Out the Falls

Though not located directly in Niagara-on-the-Lake consider doing the 25-minute drive and take in the spectacular Niagara Falls. Enjoy the view from the top or bottom of the falls and plan on bringing a picnic lunch to eat in one of the many beautiful parks. If you are feeling brave take a boat tour and feel the full power of the falls, mist and all. It is a sight you won’t forget and you will be happy to have made the trip to see it.

There are numerous biking routes professionally created for those who love to tour an area on a two-wheeler. Niagara-on-the-Lake offers great riding options for all abilities with decently flat routes through rural areas often following the Niagara River. Plan your route and pack a lunch to eat along the way. Some of the pathways include restaurants, historical sites and numerous attractions for an incredible day on the bike.

The National Historic District

One of the things that makes Niagara-on-the-Lake such a fun place to visit is the beautifully-preserved heritage brick buildings built alongside older Victorian properties dating from the early to mid-1800s. Niagara-on-the-Lake has taken great effort to ensure the quaint historic village is well-maintained so visitors and residents can enjoy their time spent taking in the sites.
